Match Both Parameter Values and Keys
Overview
Match Both is a command for copying all matching user parameter values and keys from a source component to selected destination components in an Inventor assembly. This tool streamlines the process of synchronizing parameters between similar or different types of components, ensuring consistency and reducing manual entry.
When you use Match Both, all matching user parameter values and keys are copied from the source to the destination components, except for any parameter named "ShowPlanes," which is skipped. Only parameters that are common to both components are copied, making it easy to update multiple parts at once without affecting unique or unrelated parameters.
Match Both is useful for copying parameters between duct fittings, supports, or other components, helping maintain design standards and simplify updates across assemblies.
How It Works
- Select the source component with the desired parameters.
- Choose the destination components to receive the copied parameters.
- Run the Match Both command to copy all matching parameter values and keys, skipping "ShowPlanes."
Usage Instructions
- Open your assembly in Inventor.
- Click the Match Both button in the Configure panel.
- Select the source component and then the destination components.
